Does God Speak in Dreams
They say - the people who study these things - that we average 6 or so dreams per night. Though we typically don't remember them, there is from time to time a dream that just can't be forgotten...Why is that? What purpose might that have spiritually?
The Bible lets us know that God speaks to us in dreams - as well as with other means...Why might He use a dream to speak to us though?
Well, think about it - when you are awake - ALL of your filters are on...your defenses are up...your arguments are in place...And though he speaks - by the time his word gets through all of that - often we have concluded - it was nothing more than our own thought - at best. BUT - not with dreams. When we are asleep, all of those things are out of the way...God can get to us without anything in the way - no filter...argument...defenses...etc...
So, perhaps from time to time - like in days of old - God still chooses to speak to us in a way that can't be negated by ALL of our stuff. So, next time you wake up & have a dream that just can't be forgotten - consider if God might have chosen to speak to you in that way - just because you wouldn't listen or couldn't hear Him in any other...

There's just one thing I need to know. What is aleep? I do not think I have heard that one before?

Actually, I truly believe the only time I was "overcome" by the Holy Spirit was in a dream. I was walking through and empty house, not one I recognized. I heard God say "are you ready?" and I felt the Spirit moving towards me, I was pinned against a wall in a hallway, and when he moved into me I was really scared even though it was really warm and tingly feeling. I awoke instantly wandering what had just happened only to realize I was smiling and felt a peace I hadn't felt in a long time. It only happened that one time a couple years ago, but it stirred a hunger in me that made me study just a little deeper and talk to some of my christian brothers and sisters about their experiences with God and His Holy Spirit.
God spoke to me in a small still voice in one of my dreams this LAST November he told me that I would be tested beyond measure. this year 0f 2007 and to continue to keep my faith, so far I have lost two of my classic cars my wife lost her job and is currently seeking employment my step daughter moved in with us and her 3 month old child who is know almost a year old I have creditors calling that I cant pay at this time who harasse me and foreclosure is looming ever closer I have had repeated domestic issues with my wife and her disrespecful daughter I am just trying to figure out how to keep the utilites on, food on the table, and put gas in my vehicle. I am also trying to keep my second marriage in tact and to be the leader in the household God didnt tell me how much longer my test would be but I NEED PRAYER AND THE STRENGTH TO OVERCOME THE REMAINING OBSTACLES IN MY PATH I need to stregthan my faith I do feel that I may have to start over soon if things dont change for the better. I believe in the power of prayer and he speaks to us in our dreams please pray for me feeling like job
This is to godspeed...a very wise woman once told me "if God truly brings you to it, He will surely bring you through it".
I am going through similar struggles right now and having the faith that God is going to "see us through it", well, that kind of faith doesn't come easy. If it did I wouldn't worry so much. Just remember what I have heard PB say many times "when we get to the end of ourselves, thats where God starts"...oh and that wise woman I spoke of earlier, I will be married to her 29 years very soon.
when it really gets tough and it seems your faith is waining, tell yourself this "I can't, but HE can because I am in HIM nad HE is in me"...know that someone is praying for you!
