Inside Out Socks...

I was at the washing machine the other day - which doesn't happen often - but it happens...
Have you ever put socks in the washer - inside out...Funny thing - though they go through the same wash cycle as everything else - they don't come out as clean...Why is that? Because - they weren't prepared for the washer...

It dawned on me - Spiritually I can be a lot like that too...I can talk with God...Go to church...Read the Word...Hang out with other Christ-followers...Spend time in prayer...etc...And not come out quite like I am supposed to...Why? I wasn't prepared...What's that look like?
Not being focused...Not being ALL there...Not giving it my all...Just not being into it like I know that I should...
Yep - I hate turning socks inside out - after the wash - it just doesn't get it done...
It's like going through the motions & not much really happening...I have to guard against that too...
