Actions Produce Feelings

One of the ways God has wired us - which is contrary to society's opinion - is that actions produce feelings. Society has taught us - "If it feels good - do it - if it doesn't - then don't".

The world has taught us to follow our feelings - the problem is that we often are in a cycle of defeat that only becomes more & more difficult to break. The reason - we give in to wrong feelings - then as we act them out - we solidify the cycle...Wrong actions produce wrong feelings produce wrong actions produce wrong feelings...etc...

However, God created us so that our actions always generate a feeling from them. In other words - you can never feel good about acting wrong or you can't feel bad about doing right. It’s just the way it is…

So, if you want to "feel better about yourself" - then act better - the feelings will follow. If you wait on the feeling - it's not going to happen...

Actions produce feelings…

I was having problems at home and at work. Co-workers thought that I was angery or upset. My husband figured I was having my yearly Christmas Blues.I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I decided to put "Actions produce feelings" into practice. One night after my prayer time I started thanking GOD for the blessings of that day. I said them out loud so that I could hear them too. I fell asleep "counting my blessings" The next morning I found myself taking up where I had left off. I was counting my blessings all the way to work. My internal mindset changed. I got my joy back. Everything seemed easier, back on track. I found it easy to be more thoughtful of others...noticing their needs and helping them. The simple action of speaking out loud the blessings of GOD in my life produced feelings of compassion for others. Thank you PB for reminding me that I have to take action and responsibility over my mindset. I'm back to my happy camper self. Praise be unto GOD.
